I prefer ponds, however I admit it's probably based on the fact I have a pond "right out back." I just feel out of place on a lake or at a stream.

Although I've been to huge ponds before that are bigger than many lakes (less than 50 feet deep, but still very very wide).

I live close to Lake Ontario (1/2 hour drive) and also close to a number of great ponds. no streams though... so big lakes and small ponds are my favorites

I really don't have a preference. Ponds can be a blast, and I've got a boat so I can fish lakes as well.

I find that creeks and streams tend to be surer bets for action. Still, I like the challenge of a large reservoir as well as the knowledge that the upper limit to the maximum size of fish I can catch in said reservoir is potentially much larger than in any creek. As for ponds, they are pretty much just a small lake by definition.

I like ponds and lakes better too--seems more relaxing and fun. Streams can be too weedy at times where I live but do provide some good summer fishing while ponds seem to get slower action in the heat.

Well since I don't have a boat I fish ponds where I can find them and ask if I can fish on them. Most people are pretty willing around here. However, I have fished on many lakes with family on a boat and I love it.
