North American Fishing Club....Who's a member?
I received a brochure about them and it seems to be a good deal. If you are a member, is it what it seems to be? Is there any negatives about it?
Thanks! Anthony |

If you want to join a club, then join B.A.S.S
I never had any good experiences with NAFC. All they ever did to me was try to sell me stuff. |

First off they bug the S%&# out of you on a regular basis. Buy this, buy this, if you buy this we'll send you this as an extra gift. Then they want you to become a lifetime member, god only knows how many calls I get about that- I discontinued my membership over a year ago. Still they send me little keychains and a order now while you still can letter. I received 2-3 things from them, most were not practical for my uses. I was even told I was being sent an ABU rod/reel combo after I joined- still waiting!!! My personal opinion I will not waste my time or money with them. 8)

I wouldn't use their magazine to line the bottom of a bird cage.

All I fish for is bass so a lot of the stuff they cover wouldn't be of any interest to me.

I tried it too. Bad mistake. They really try and get you with the hardbound books they send you. Just lots of empty promises in my opinion.
21 for me, Ranger. Â*Never felt the need to join anything else.
Ain't it the truth Rebbasser! Even though I took a 10 year hiatus from serious bass fishing while I raced cars, I renewed my subscription every year so that I could keep up with what was going on in the bass fishing world. Re: North American Fishing Club....Who's a member?
Too much trash thats not about bass. Granted, if I were to go to Canada and fish for trout, then I might join (not likely).
The tackle that they send you is great, if you like new corks, weights and small hooks. |

Re: North American Fishing Club....Who's a member?
I started out running what they called the Hot Rod class but the last 6 years I was running dirt Late Models. Even with good sponsorship it got to where the costs were just more than I could afford. My son also ran karts during this time. That was also pretty expensive as well.
For the folks that think bass fishing is expensive, check this out: An all aluminum race motor cost a little more than a new 21 foot Ranger fully rigged. Most people who are serious about it have 3 motors like that. A fully equipped hauler cost as much as 2 new 21 foot Rangers! Your tire/wheel bill will run about $6,000 a year. Add in your travel expenses, entry fees, hotels, etc., it can be a bit overwhelming. As the old saying goes...."If you want to make a small fortune in racing make sure you start with a big one." |
