Was thinking of getting an Underwater Cam for the boat. Anyone Used one, and what is the general Opinion of them. Every one I have talked to that has one says that they are Incredible. Especially for deep water Jigging.

I've seen the shows,
and it is awesome, you could see the fish actually hit the bait underwater! Great way to learn about fish habits, and other things about them... Overall, just get it, looks like it's an awesome toy, and an important tool.. ![]() seaphantom |

I don't own one, but one of the guys who does,( can't remember exactly who) said it was great in clear water, but if it's dirty or stained, you can't see anything. That makes sense to me, and since I mostly fish stained water, I wouldn't need it.

We have an aqua-vu and it is amazing what you can learn with it. The statement about it not working in dark water is true, but if you have water that is even semi clear it is an amazing tool. Use it in conjunction with you locator and you will be able to know exactly what you're picking up on your locator. I go out in the spring when the water is nice and clear and find different structures on my locator. Then I drop the camera down and see exactly what's down there. If it's something I think will hold fish I then mark it on my gps. I also use it for ice fishing. It's definately a fun toy to have.

It would be nice to have, but a little too expensive for my blood. Â*Maybe one day when my kids are grown and out of the house I can afford one. Â*

I get frustrated enough seeing 'em on my sonar...I would probably go stark raving mad to really see them and not catch them! ;D

well, I am doing a bunch of walleye and Crappie fishing also in this lake. and from what I am being told it is a great tool for that. I think the comment I was given was"you will NOT believe how many times a fish actually hits a lure while you are vertical Jigging, and you don't realize it." LOL> And that sounds about like my luck. LOL>

McCRAY,
I think it would be a great tool on a strange lake. It could be used for finding sunken humps, brushpiles and river bends. It would also be great for fishing around boat docks to find which ones had sunken trees and where they were at. JackL |

I have an Aqua-Vue and really forget I have it since my Dad passed. It's difficult at night when we used it in stained water but, when it's clear enough, wow, smallies, wallies and all that goes with it...
I got to get that out right now since I'll be fishing next week in PA... Have a Great Day Fishin' Mike |

if you can afford a underwater video camera you can afford a small boat!! B-) and if not a small boat than maybe a Remote Control Boat to see the structure your casting into!! B-) |
