Weekly Lake Fork Fishing Report From Guide Jim Rea

Well, the fishing has not changed this week from last week. This time of year the fishing report is almost a repeat every week. The water has dropped to about a foot low but has cooled off from last week. The temp is from 80 to 84 degrees all over the lake. The fish are holding deep and working shallow. This is almost a fishermen’s dream as the shallow water fishermen can fish his Texas rig or top water almost all day and the deep water fisherman can fish deep all day. The shallow bite has been good on top water very early till the sun gets up and then weightless baits will work along with Texas and Carolina rigs. Lipless crank baits are working on the schooling fish that might come up. Main lake points and humps have been my best spots for numbers. The weather has been very good for the fisherman as today it was 84 degrees all day on the lake. The wind was very good and kept it just right. We did have a fisherman killed this past Saturday and it was from lighting. I have spoke many times on when a storm is approaching get off the lake as the lighting is a deadly killer. We have had many fishermen killed by lighting because they didn’t get off the lake.
