I've decided to go to the local landing to see what I can catch this afternoon.
Mega cold front right now, after a couple weeks of 80-90 degree weather, the water is in the 60's, but that's dropping fast thanks to an air temperature of 45 degrees (thanks Arlene!) The largemouth are probably spawning by now, although they could abandon their beds if the water drops too quickly. So I'm going to the river in hopes of getting smallmouth, striper, trout, salmon, whatever there is! I'm hoping the fish will be shallow, I just hope the cold air doesn't make the surface too cold for their comfort. Then again, trout like the cold. Anyone have any good ideas on what to use for lures? Hopefully a lure that will not only attract the smallmouth, but the others as well? Maybe a spoon? Small plastic worm? ??? I'll bring the digital camera just in case something nice comes. |
