Re: Other hobbies
flippin4it, I still am surprised by the number of people interested in that war. On this board and others I've found a number of people who are very knowlegable about it. I have about decided the reason is because it was ours. No outside foreign governments, strictly an American affair. And even 140 years after it ended feelings still run deep.

Re: Other hobbies
Â* Â* Well Rebbasser. My family fought and died out of nw Georgia during the civil war.My father has his P.H.D. in military history,so going to any battle field when i was younger was like being on a guided tour .Normandy , Waterloo , Gettysburg , I have been dragged all over europe and the states. The only ones i liked are the ones from the civil war. Anyone that knows anything about the civil war will tell you that the war was about states rights , "NO SLAVERY"...Man,that was one heck of a rant'.

Re: Other hobbies
bassfisher02: disc golf is like regular golf but you use "frisbees" instead. The frisbees are not like regular blunt edged frisbees, they are about nine inches in diameter, about half inch in width, and they have drivers, midranges, and putters. you shoot into a chain basket. crocheting is like knitting, but you only use one stick, and it isnt a needle, it is a hook. i sell beanies (hats) a lot of times. i have sold mittens and stuff. my friend made $1500 in two weekends just selling his homemade hats! crazy eh? ~discgolfer

Re: Other hobbies
do u use a tee or do u just lay the frisbee on the ground and take a golf club and hit it? so its basicly golf except u use frisbees and shoot into chain baskets. how far away are the chain baskets?

Mud... ahh, fun stuff for driving a 4-wheeler through.
Get a good 40 mph on ice... aim for 720 degrees. ;D By the way, when I said earlier that one of my hobbies was "getting on girls' nerves" I did not include burnouts |

Re: Other hobbies
Yikes, that sounds scary man. Were you in RWD or FWD?
A big problem around here is drunk snowmobilers. Or just plain careless snowmobilers. Someone could be going 80+ mph and hit a small patch of grass, all it takes to do something like you just described. Really gotta play it safe, because a helmet isn't going to do much for you at that speed. |

[/quote] i was in Rear Wheel, or 2wd on a fourwheeler. thing was though it wasnt a freak thing,i purposely hit the brakes on the ice, just didint think i would go around like that. I always wear a helmet, but your right it dont do anything for you at high speeds, and by that i mean anything over 15 mph. I have heard of people getting killed doing less than 15 mph and not even goofing off, just enjoying the ride. Pretty scary to think about |

Re: Other hobbies
In my younger days I actually raced motorcycles on ICE,a couple hundred studs front and back a nice 1/4mile glass smooth ice oval and hang on,cause if you go down at that speed in traffic bad things happen.
