an update, that Wednesday I Was too tired to do any fishing that night, but did a little SMALL pond fishing with little baitfish, caught 5 in about 20 minutes, all less than a pound. Caught another in a lake one hill over from the first one, on a buzzbait with a fast retrieve. Couple pounds, then caught a 3.5 pounder on a free lined tiki stick, color very much resembled a live earth worm. Only fished that area about 10 minutes before I left.
Thursday night I ended up at the Rodman Dam again, first started fishing below the damn on the river side at the Southern Pier, the full moon was hanging eirily over the river. Was a beautiful site. Got there about midnight, started fishing, heared fish hitting but nothing hitting my pole, used jitterbugs, buzzbaits, all speeds, no hits, went up on the lake side of the dam near the original river channel, had one short strike and nothing else. On the way home I decided to take the drive through the woods on the trails the entire way home. I ended up heading south on FR 88 to lake kerr and threw a black buzz bait. Caught a 5 pounder about 10 feet from the dock, fish hit the lure right over the boat ramp. Only fished there about 10 minutes, fished rodman and the river over 5 hours. Quit fishing about 5:30 at lake kerr. If any of yall find yourself out at lake kerr, fish around the island, that's where most of the big ones are taken out there.

You know, I used to just swear and take the skeeters - they werent gonna kill ya. But with west nile virus out there now I think I'm gonna have to pay attention to them.

I've been outta action for the past week - had to get my brakes fixed but I'll be going a few times after work this week - will post if I have something to talk about.

I'm the same way with the skeeters typically, however there are some parts of the county they don't spray misquito killer and in those parts, the population is INSANE. They don't spray out at rodman as they don't want the chemicals affecting the food supply and all the other critters out there. In the summer, once the sun goes down, if you plan on fishing without any repellants, you can expect to inhale a few dozen skeeters the first hour you're there.
