I'm New/NJ Fishing/Reel Rod

Bought myself a Pflueger President Freshwater Spinning Reel 6'6 combo pool today w/ some trilene XL smooth Casting 10lb line and Rapala J-9. Funny, I come home and I see I already have that lure in my tackle box, lol. Anywho, went to farrington lake with a friend and went by the lilly pads. Had about 7 fish jump up and grab it, but of course, we didn't hook any.

I'm still waiting on the raft. UPS tracking isnt very helpful.. since its not even showing up.

Once I get the raft, should be lot more fun My foot also fell through the dock twice, getting my brand new shoes wet. lol.

My raft and pump came in and tried it out The pump is soo small, but its crazy how well it works. Took about 5 minutes to blow the whole raft up.

Caught the fish at Farrington Lake in the cove with the hole in the wall. At the end of the cove with the lilly pads. On a Rapala J-11 Perch color lure. I saw on another post someone used it at farrington and worked for them.

LOL, we were actually in the lilly pads with the raft. Â*and i casted it and it hit as i reeled it a bit. Â*Didn't catch anything else cept for lots of lilly pads. The weather was really bad, windy and cloudy. Quite cold also.. Â*Was about 3pm when i got the fishy

Didn't have a net, lol. Fish shaking while trying to get it out of the water... w/ Rapala's sharp hooks = less ouch with gloves on.
