Oh come on, the playoff picture is shaping up. Surely the few NFL fans here can unite right about now!
Here are my prediction for today (Saturday)'s games: In chronological order: Tampa Bay at New England New England, strengthened by the return of key players from the injury list and the fact that their secondary is maturing thanks to big plays from rookie Ellis Hobbs, and the offense thanks to Corey Dillon, Kevin Faulk, David Givens, and Troy Brown, shall be enough to control Tampa Bay in the cold. Kansas City at New York Giants Trent Green will be able to outduel Eli Manning thanks to experience and KC's aggressive playing. Larry Johnson will have a big day, but the Giants could still pull it off. I predict the Chiefs to win though. Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills Come on now. The Broncos are pretty good, and the Bills just suck. I see no way the Bills can defeat the Broncos. Denver wins by at least 20. |

The heat of football season is in October. The NFL doesn't count like college.
I'm hoping the falcons can squeeze in the playoffs, even though the Seahawks have been my team for the past few years. Where are the Steelers in the playoff race?

The Steelers right now are the 6th seed... they won today which really helps them a lot.
If they win next week, they're the seed 6 wildcard. If they lose and the Chiefs lose, they are still in. If the Steelers lose and the Chiefs win, the Chiefs are in due to better division/conference record. I guess the whole college vs. NFL thing has a lot to do with location. Around here, hardly anyone follows college football at all. However, all football fans follow the NFL. Probably because this region has hardly any well-known college teams other than BC. |

College football is very popular in the rural areas, red states, ect. Up in the northeast yall don't really have many local teams besides maybe Syracuse, and they were pitifull this year. Down here in the south we have a choice between rooting for the Falcons or Saints...some great choice, whoopee.

there's a lot more southern teams than that. If you only like to root regional, Florida isn't too far away from you (Dolphins, Bucs, Jags) or the Titans. |

The Florida teams seem way too distant. I have pulled for the Titans in the past, but their ties with the region are still not strong. That might change over time, they left Houston only 10 years ago. I also just find it hard to say the words "go" and "tennessee" in the same sentence, unless the words "to hell" are in between them.

Ok, I don't really follow the NFC much, but here's the AFC playoff picture right now...
Colts (clinched #1 seed- first round bye and homefield) Broncos (clinched #2 seed- first round bye) Bengals (currently #3, clinch this seed with win next week or Patriots loss) Patriots (currently #4, can move up to third seed with win and Bengals loss) Wild Card Jaguars (clinched #5 seed) Steelers (currently #6 seed, clinch with win next week or Chiefs loss) Still in the running are the Chiefs, who can grab the #6 seed with a win AND a Steelers loss. |

Well so far the Fl teams are doing downright crappy in bowl games. UCF- humiliated, Miami- humiliated, SFU- shut out. That leaves Fl St and UF to hopefully win. Honestly I would like to see Paterno and Penn humiliate FSU. The Gators need to redeem themselves against IOWA.

Miami should close down their program for that performance last night. LSU hasn't been made to look that good since Saban coached there, they've played directional schools that gave them a tougher game.
I think Penn State is a good bit better than FSU, especially with their star linebacker out. Florida should probably be favored over Iowa though.

Would never believe that LSU quarterback never started. He performed flawlessy for what his playtime was throughout the season. Very confident, very precise. I still think they must a slipped a roofie in his pregame drink to calm him down though.

Sorry Floridians, but the Jags are going to get smoked this Saturday. Better off rooting for the Bucs.
Bengals will kill the steelers, come on now. Carolina at Giants? Um... Carolina wins that one. Washington at Tampa Bay. Don't really know these teams that well, but after watching Tampa Bay get shut out and play horribly against the Pats, I'll have to say the Redskins must be a better team. Well those are my predictions for this weekend. |

I was right for 3 of them, yay! Divisional time:
Pittsburgh at Indy: hahahahaha. I really hope that Pittsburgh wins, but unless something strange happens, Indy wins. New England at Denver: Denver's a great team, but this is a rematch from the regular season. Do you know the Patriots record when that happens since 2001? 15-1. 15-1 I'll take the Pats Washington at Seattle: haahhahahahahahahaha. Seriously, who doesn't think Seattle will win? Carolina at Chicago: eeeeeeeee Chicago |

I am a Seattle fan with Shaun being up there, but history says the Seahawks will take an early exit. The Skins have won several in a row now and get Springs back in the secondary too. An upset would not shock me.

Into a retirement home maybe.

I actually like the Steelers. Theyre a good, bluecollar football team - I just don't think they win it this year.

GO COLTS, hope it's a good game, and gets me swearing but happy in the end. I want to play New England again, and smoke them twice this year.

The strange thing about the Steelers is that they have almost the same exact players from last year (plus Willie Parker), I'm not really sure how they started the season so roughly.
The thing that Bronco and Colts fans should be concerned with is that yes, both teams beat New England this year... but against... what defense? And they stopped... what running game? Exactly. RB Corey Dillon is back. RB Kevin Faulk is back. WR Troy Brown is back. DE Richard Seymour is back. IL Tedy Bruschi is back. CB Ellis Hobbs the rookie has matured into a decent cornerback to strenthen up the secondary. If only Rodney Harrison was still there... then the defense would feel complete. I'm not overly worried about the Broncos though. #1 ranked rushed offense... that rushed for 170 yards against New England's second-stringers. This Saturday they get to run into Mike Vrabel and Tedy Brsuchi. After their running game gets shut down, they'll turn to Jake Plummer so he can get sacked 5 times by Willie McGinest. BYE BYE DENVER! |
