low water level conditions
Im back...
Finally caught a bass yesterday (since late-summer period)looks like they're biting again... Anyways, the creek is like 2 feet lower on water level, and gettin pretty shallow out on the sand bars... Any ideas on what ta use in these conditions? I've had most success with spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, but if anyone knows some other technique that also works, please let me know thanx, seaphantom |

Re: low water level conditions
where do ya live? What color is the water? I've had the most success in small streamson junebug lizards and red shad worms, culprit prefferably. I just walk along, look for a deep spot, drop the bait and twitch, and quite often I'll get a bass. Try it, see how it works.

Yep Popr is on the right track, I would go with that see where that leaves you. Look for deep pockets they will hold up in there trying to keep cool try coming over top of them they might have an ambush style attack set up, if nothing go straight down the deep spot and twitch. Also look for shady areas out of the sun they would like to stay cool and strike out from under cover of the shady areas.

Re: low water level conditions
Welcome back What have you been trying, obviously nothing you've been using has worked, or you just haven't been fishing ??? Definately try a Lizard, weightless t-rigged. I would try some flukes also, but with the water being so low, and it's a creek, they may have moved off quite a ways to some deeper water.

Re: low water level conditions
In lakes like (Highrock) we fished with rattle traps and won a tournament there. We caught our fish by actually dragging the bait through the rocks. We were tearing up those rocks. Sure the paint will get chipped off (rather quickly) but then again how often does a bass pay close attention to the head color (of your bait) !
