Re: GAS PRICES!!!!!
$2.19...for diesel, the least refined of all of the fuels is cosing me an arm and a leg. And that is before I even fill up the boat. Maybe I should have gone with a canoe.

Re: GAS PRICES!!!!!
$2.15 here in Florence, Al.
Just filled up my truck and boat today because we're leaving for Guntersville tomorrow afternoon. I just about cried!! :'( Boat: 106.53 (gas and oil) Truck: 51.76 158.29 When we planned this vacation about 6 months ago, I budgeted $100 for gas. I'll have to fill the truck up again to get back home and hopefully we won't burn all of the boat gas out. The way it looks now is that I'll be about $110 over budget just in gas! To me it's worth every penny so that me and my son can get away for a week from the everyday hassles and go after some of those double digit hawgs at Guntersville. |

Re: GAS PRICES!!!!!
LIZARDS,
I hate to pee on your parade, but in my opinion you have got it backwards. The companies that have to import oil are at the mercy of the OPEC countries. They are only passing on the cost of crude to the consumers. The companies that are ripping of the American public are the companies that DO NOT import oil, and as such are not forced to raise prices on thier oil products. They are just seeing a chance to rip off the public and line thier greedy pockets in the process. These companies are the ones that we should boycot. JackL |

JackL
AH, but it costs more to get it from our country due to how, where and where we get it. Plus they have to pay folks a decent wage here, so the costs are higher. I understand what you are saying, but they can choose to not import, and use our exisitng resources, or they could put some money into alternative fuel products, such as solar energy. I have a problem with all the oil we import and how it holds us over the preverbial barrel(of oil). I understand your choice, but I will have to disagree on this one. If my money is going somewhere, then I'll try to give it to our country if possible. Now we all know most stuff is made overseas now a days, so that's not as easy as it sounds. But in this instance, I can definately determine where my money goes. Just like when I get poor service, I can choose where I spend my money. If it costs more to get, then it's actually making the folks less money Of course this is just my opinion. Lizards |

Re: GAS PRICES!!!!!
Well said Jackl! Lizards, British Petroleum /BP owns Amoco. They sell Amoco fuels!
93 octane is 2.29-2.39 a gallon here. figures from my last tournament.. $50-gas in the boat! $100 entry fee. $50 for truck gas. $40 for food and drinks. $ 240 total. 16Lbs., 9th place, 0 dollars. You gotta love fishing. |

Re: GAS PRICES!!!!!
Just got back from spending $94.00 for gas in my boat.
I guess your priorities need to be in order,I mean really in order. If it costs me 150.00 for gas in my boat, I really wouldn't hesitate, well maybe a little ! They say that it costs to fish but give me a break. I may end up being a "shore" angler if something doesn't give. |

Re: GAS PRICES!!!!!
Our gas just went to $2.27 9/10 here this afternoon. What really gets me in a killing mood is that every damn drop of it was pumped, refined, transported and sold in Kansas. Not a drop of import oil, yet we are still being gouged. I filled my Tahoe and bought 5 gallons for the lawn mower and it cost me $66.00. (DOUBLE OUCH) JackL LIZ, I think BP owns Phillips 66, not Amaco. :-[ |
Sorry Liz, it's misinformation.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/saudigas.asp
I stand completely corrected :-[ I like that site, I will have to bookmark it. I removed the above post, sorry for the misinformation. I still stand by not wanting to import the oil, or try alternative methods. By the way gas jumped here to $2.29 last night while driving home. God thing a tank of gas will last like 2-3 days on my boat Lizards |
