senko,
Please understand that "best" doesn't really apply in Bass fishing per se. Different baits, and techniques should be employed under different conditions. Some days spinnerbaits rule, some days PNJ's rule, while other days a crank or even plasitc LIZARDSRULE! There may be better choices at different times, but no BEST IMHO. Lizards

Go to bait would be 2.5 inch tube in green pumpkin or crankbait. Maybe a jig or worm as well.

junebug senko, watermelon red flake superfluke, red shad culprit, or a charteuse tandem spinner from Wal-Mart. Whenever I go fishing, chances are I'll use one of those lures at some point.

A Hart Tackle bleeding series 1/2 oz. chart./white spinnerbait with a gold willow leaf and nickel colorado blade, or a Zoom trick worm in watermelon purple glitter on a 1/4 oz. shaky head jighead.

Hmmmmmm my go to lure. Guess I would have to give multiple answer to this question. Depends on what I was attempting to catch. If it was numbers of fish a smaller spinnerbait or a smaller crankbait. If it is sizeable fish hands down the pig and jig. There are other considerations and different times and conditions that a person needs to cipher out.
