WTB trolling motor
hey everyone im new to the forum i just recently bought a 92 skeetersx with a 175 evinrude intruder i installed new carpet and took off every decal on the boat and am planning on replacing them all with new.. when going thru my inspection i noticed the evinrude trolling motor did not work so i am in the market for a new one.. im prefferably looking for one used, and one thats gonna get me moving a bit.. haha it may sound dumb but can anyone give me suggestions or anyone looking to unload a used trolling motor? thanks in advance.

well, I think the issue you are going to run into is this. most any used trolling motor, unless you find it locally is going to cost you more in shipping than the motor is worth.
I have a motorguide trolling motor thats a 24v 70# of thrust I believe, that I wouldnt mind selling, but again, the shipping would kill you. Being in PA, your best bet may be craigslist or taking out a classified there asking for one |

i wouldnt have the slightest idea of what to charge for it. honestly. but I am from iowa, so the shipping to you would be 100+ probably anyway. I recommend whole heartedly looking closer to you. craigslist is easy to navigate if you just follow the right hand column. choose Pennsylvania, then your area etc. then the section in the middle

The bottum line is that you want the biggest trolling motor that you can get.

You also need to be careful buying used. Trolling motors take some abuse and most people do not change them unless they break or they need more power. First, you have to decide what voltage you currently have and do you want to stay with that. If you upgrade voltage you will need extra batteries, plug and possible upgrade to your wiring.
If you plan on keeping the boat a long time I would order a new one or find a used one in like new condition. |

Remember that if you had a 12 volt and upgrade to a 24 volt you will need another battery.
