I'm planning on going fishing on the new river sometime soon and was wondering what to fish with. Â*The river has smallmout bass and it is very shallow(around 2-5 feet. |

Re: River fishing tips?
I live on the River in Wisconsin. Right now we throwing poppers/chuggars and spooks in the slack water for top water action..won't get snagged up either. In the middle of the day we're throwing square billed shallow running cranks and (might sound funny but we're catching them) in-line mepps #2 or 3 spinners.
Try texas rigging a Yum Crawfish and pitching it into over hanging brush or fallen down logs. Good luck |

Try a small jighead with a grub on back.
Run it right with the current, and hold on. Even a small Sally is insane. |

Re: River fishing tips?
When fishing real shallow rivers I like to take a red shad culprrit or a junebug lizard and drop it into the deep holes and work it for a second or two, usually this produces well.
