should have gotten powerpro. Braid is good for certain uses, its the most sensitive line there is.

I like the stren superbraid. Like everybody else has said, for some things it great and for others its not. Its advantages are strength and sensitivity, but its disadvatage is that it is very visable underwater and it sometimes (it seems on certain reels) doesn't handle well.

I would easily rig up everything I own with it, only if I could afford it :P
But I do enjoy the Stren Monofilaments really well. Despite the occasional stretching, the Stren Original always seems to be the cheepest line to depend on. I use 10lb. clear on all my spinning reels and 14lb. clear line on all my baitcasters. No problems at all. Although I'll probally be spooling up with some Stren Superbrain real soon. -StetsD |

50 lb test has 12lb mono diameter, plus aot of the ponds i fish are covered in weeds and lately 14 lb mono has been gettin broke off in some of these nasty plces in that pond

Stren Superbraid is a good line. But when you say it casts like a dream, I would ask what you are casting. I can assure you it doesn't cast like a dream with weightless plastics, but does well with heavier baits.

![]() but still, unless ur useing a grappling hook-lol-theres no way ur comein up with 14lbs of weeds or a 14lb weed/fish combo. the ponds i fish are covered in weeds and pond scum, but my stren 10lb x does the job just fine and it does "cast like a dream" |

There is no advantage to going to 50 lb test from 30 lb test.If you can't bring them out with 30 lb test you will not be able to bring them out on 50 lb test either. P N J

Lizards[/quote] what is a good braided line that cast well with weightless and weighted soft plastic lures using a spinning rod and real? what would be a good cast as far as distance is concerned in your opinion? |

It's a fused line. I use it almost exclusively on my spinning reels. It casts like a dream, with no line memory. The 20lb test is my favorite. Now it does need to have maintenance, meaning that you will need to cut off the last 10 feet every so often, but it won't break, it casts great, and after many, many, many lines I've tried it's my favorite. I am going to try the Spiderwire Stealth, got it on a good reccomendation from a trusted guy IMO(right Senkosam ![]() ![]() Lizards |

![]() Well if it's already on it, then use it, but unless you have a huge reel, like a saltwater reel, the 14lb is TOO BIG. Now the fused and braids are smaller in diameter, but read you reel, it should say what is the max line to use(that's based on mono lines) so don't go over that. ![]() Lizards |

I've tried a couple of braided lines, and I like powerpro. Although I haven't tried fireline. Try both and see what you like.

Has anybody seen the Stren Heavy Cover Line?
They have this olive green color that is the exact color of the ponds, and lakes here in Charlotte. I might find a good jig rod and load a #14 lb. test on it. |
