berkly ironsilk problems
i ave been useing the berkley ironsilk line for a while now and am very happy with it.the problem i have is that after my rods sit for a little while the line seems to loos its strength badly. as soon as u try and tie a knot in it it just breaks off.i have to take off a few turns off of te spool and then its fine. my rods are stored in the rod locker of my boat out of the weather and sun. i was wondering if anyone else had this problem as well?

Re: berkly ironsilk problems
Yeah, it handles great. It also breaks if you look at it wrong. I lost lures, I lost fish-absolutely the worst line I ever used. I took it off all my reels and sent it back to Berkley to be replaced with Trilene XL, which they did.
My advice? Send it back to Berkley-they will replace it. |

Welcome to the Asylum ;D Kick back and enjoy 8)
As for Ironsilk, well I wouldn't reccomend it based on everything I've heard from Rebasser, and he's one of the most knowledgeable and honest guys on this or any other site. So if he says it crap, believe him, and zooker kinda knows his stuff :(JK zooker don't go ballistic on me ) Anyway since we are talking line I highly reccomend Fireline, it's the best IMO, but of course everyone has their favorite. Normally with a product you will hear some people who like it and others who don't. In the case of Ironsilk, I have not heard of one favorable review.

I wouldn't use it to sew a button on. Get some BPS excel mono, and don't worry anymore.
