Catching Bass
Get a pack of Watermelon/Red (green with red glitter) Ultra Vibe Speed Worms made by zoom bait company. These are available from anglersupply.com, zoombaits.com, bassproshops.com........when you get them, cut off the tails and rig them texposed weightless on a 2/0 hook.
Cast near likely cover and let sink to bottom.....if nothing takes it on the fall, wait 25 seconds, then lift slowly to feel....if still nothing, reel in and cast to another likely spot. In heavy weeds use a gentle bump and fall approach.....that is to say, cast to an open pocket, let fall......after 10 seconds, reel slowly until you feel it hit a weed, then let fall....bump fall bump fall...... Watch the line at all times. You will catch a slew of bass in reeds, near pads, weeds, weed edges and even at times in clear water near channels. Even though your catch rate is good, it will probably improve using the above information |

Re: Catching Bass
the speed worms also work well swimming them through the lilly pads and letting them drop down in the gaps in the pads as you pass over them

So basically you turn it into a Senko style lure? Charles[/quote] Yes it does, however it falls slower since it is lighter in weight. Which in tough conditions can make all the difference in the world, not to mention it's like half the price as the Senko's Lizards Sorry Mac didn't mean to step on your toes here. :-[ |

Re: Catching Bass
Lizards, quite to the contrary, thanks much for the help.
I've always felt that a lot of folks will read a post, but very few will actually try it. Â*Kinda like leading a fisherman to water, but can't make him fish....lol. Good fishing, Mac |
