My boat is better at small ball than almost any other boat short of a go-devil. 13 feet 6 inches, I need about 6 inches of water and I can make it through. Caught a lot of unpressured bass by heading all the way up the creeks in reservoirs to places inaccesable to 20' gamblers, or at least those operated by a sane driver.

I'm not running down anyone with an expensive rig.If you work and can afford it ,I'm happy for you.I'd much rather have a top of the line Nitro. But I can't right now(I will in 3 or 4 years).I got to admit I love my antique Terry.I've caught a lot of big bass in it.

i dont have a boat, but my step dad does. he has a 15' restored skiff, with a johnson 30hp stick-steer. it will hold 3 people comforably, and 2 with alot of room. it will top off around 30, but we usually run it at 24, it will run the same with 2 or 3 people in it. he is gunna get a trolling motor for it, a saltwater one, he just has to wait alittle. we also have a 13' gheenoe with mercury 15hp stick-steer. its painted camo, and we only use it for hunting. the skiff is what we use for fishing.

My Miss River boat is a 14 foot flatbottom with a 25 horse mercury tiller outboard, Minn Kota 40 lb All Terrain trolling motor.

we keep our main fishing boat at our cabin up north. Â*2003 Lund Explorer 1675 SS with a Mercury 60 HP 4 stroke EFI w/ Minn Kota Maxxum 74 lb trolling motor.

They're not rangers, and they dont go 60 MPH, but they get the job done.

when you guys say stick steer, are you talking a tiller? must be a southern thing.

LMAO, no it's not a southern or redneck thing, maybe a HICK thing though.
A Stick Steer is where the steering is done by a single metal rod instead of a steering wheel. It's mounted on the side instead of in front of you. It has the smae connections, but you just move it forward or backwards to STEER. A tiller you sit in the back, but a stick steer is up fornt, without taking up the room a steering wheel does. I'll look for a picture and see if I can post a link to it. Very few companies make them at all anymore.

This is a stick steer boat 8) The steering under power of the outboard is done from the same plce you run your trolling moter. It's the steel handle on the left of the guy up front.

this next link is to a description of the boat and specs.

oh, then we have a tiller ;D im still alittle consused on it....so you use that stick to the left to steer? where do you give it throttle? how would you use that stick to steer? it doesnt look like it would go to much left due the the boat. im just alittle baffled about this....

Picture a steering wheel. Now remove the steering wheel, and put that bar in it's place. If you turn the wheel to the right, you go right, but you just push the bar forward. And of course to go left you pull back. It has pretty much the same steering system, it's just on your side instead of in front of you. They work great. If you had the steering wheel there instead of the stick, you would have a hard time gripping the wheel from the angle. So they just put a bar in it's place. The limitation on truning radius is stil how far the outboard will move. This type of boat is ideal for a one man fishing crew, and smaller waters. They usually don't have big moters on them, but you do everything from up front, electric start, and throttle are up there also. I don't have to get my butt off the seat to troll or go under power. Read the info on the boat, it tells you a lot of the beneifits. If you are fishing with the foot controlled trolling moter, and want to move quickly just pull up the trolling moter fire up the engine, and go. The only downside IMO is that your weight is up front, making it more front end heavy, and you will get a lot wetter form the waves splashing up. I'm going to have some type of modification to mine one of these days, that will allow me to put a hinged piece of aluminum up front so when running, it will deflect more of the spray down or away from me, especially when it's colder out. But It can go anywhere, and it is realy wery easy to use.

It's the same traditional throttle like on all boat. Most stick steering systems are set up like that.

The stick only controls steering but the throttle is still the same.
