Default Re: Canyon Lake & Upper Guadalupe River

The lake only came up 4', but on Canyon it looks worse than it actually is. The river was not safe to run with 2700 cfs coming in. There is always a lot of debris, which is always the case after heavy rains like we've had recently. People that know the lake realize that and adjust their fishing accordingly. Of course there was some debris in the main lake, too. A little caution is all that's necessary. The lake is/was far from being dangerous. The Corps. is releasing 9248 cfs so the level should be back to 909' (normal pool) from a high of
913' at it's peak.

The only creek on the north side that was bad is Potter's Creek, which has been cleared out with the arrival of the cold front because the wind pushed all the trash to the south side of the lake.

Fishing is still very good and the lake is gin clear from
mid-lake to the dam.
