Braid vs Mono
Do you actually think braided line is more "sensitive" than mono?

absolutely!!!but along with that sensativity comes a host of other issues.tip wrap would be the one i hate the worst.visibilty would be next.i used to use braid (powerpro) exclusively but i have given it up.i might go back to it for flipping only.for eveything else i use cajun red cast which i feel is the best mono ever made.

Yes. Since there is no stretch for baits where you need feel to detect bites braid is much more sensitive. I don't use it fopr every application, though. When throwing crankbaits the low stretch can be a liability. Having a line with a little give to it, like mono, can keep the fish from throwing the hooks or tearing the hooks out of the fish's mouth.

Actually, I'm replacing the power pro on my baitcasters with cajun red cast, due to a couple of reasons.
Power pro is killing me on line wrap and BAD backlashes (which I've never had years of fishing w/ mono). Don't get me wrong, PP is the best braid I've ever used but it just doesn't work with my type of fishing.

MONO for me please!! I cant stand braids castability anymore, but love the sensitivity, but If I were to get braid most definitley would be POWER PRO.

i would love braid if it werent for the casting problems. its sensitivity is no match for mono. i hate to even flip it i use a heavy mono for that even. i just cant stand that stuff. never buy flurocarbon thats by far the worst.

I actually think mono has better bite detection feel than braided line. They both have a purpose , Braided line will cut through dense weeds where mono won't, Flourocarbons are a pain in the neck to tie a knot while keeping it wet enough and cinching the knot slowly so you don't weaken the line from friction. Flourocarbon line sinks , very good choice for suspending jerkbaits. Mono seems to work better with senko type baits, over weedbeds where braid moves the bait unnaturally and flourocarbon sinks snagging into the weeds when working the bait. Its no wonder tey are all still being made , until someting new is made, I doubt these brands will ever be phased out. P N J

The only time I use braided line is when fishing heavy weeds with a frog, other than that I use mono for everything. I got the P-line flourocarbon a few weeks back and use it for flipping and pitching and love it. great sensitivity, low stretch, low memory, very abrasion restistant (15lb test, and put it in the thick stuff and havent broke off yet). I have had bad luck with other flouro's but this P-line is some good stuff.
