Default Jerky

I just made a ton of beef jerky, a buddie gave me this giant roast and it cut it in stripes about 8 inches by a 1/4 inch, and have it soaking in a marinade i got off the net for homemade beef jerky...tommorow I will cook it for about 6 hours at 160 degrees...I miss by dehydrator but this oven works ok..
anyone else make thier own jerky outa deer/beef?
this batch was worester sauce, terriyaki sauce, dry onion and garlic, cayenne pepper and a lil brown suger, mollasis..
probably make me thristy as heck tomorrow rofl

I usually use ground meat when I make jerky.

Jerkey is my favorite snack food! My and my friend were like complete Fanatics about jerky... We made some outta salmon, but it didnt work out. we cooked it at 130, and left it for about 8 hours but it didnt go all the way. Might try it again with different meat, i really want to try deer. Jack Links Teriyaki is the best, IMHO

I like it every now and then, but it sure makes me thirsty, and zooker knows what happens when I get thirsty rofl
plus the sodium in the soy sauce makes me balloon up like a circus clown..
I like the terraki jack o links thats easy to chew
On this 3 lbs of beef I made into jerky, I bet I yeild about 13-16 ounces, no wonder its expensive..oh yea, I did try a "pull" a minute ago, all that Cayenne pepper I added is killer!

Going fishing here in a little while, it should be ready to eat when I get home!

Jack Links is good the peppered is the best!
Actually Wal*Mart house brand is good too.
I buy it when I'm going on a road trip like Ohio or Indiana.
Went to Kentucky, wednesday..9 hours travel for a 20 minute service call.
Cranky...deer jerky is only good when teriyaki to the max!
