We went to Lake Raven in Huntsville State Park today, had some boats issues and wound up getting there late. We fished for about 6 hours total and landed only one nice keeper. It was a tad windy, not too bad, but heavy at times. The water temp was in the high 50ties, and we fished Trigged plastics for the most part, fishing both shallow and deep with no bites what so ever. One fish was finally snagged about 30 minutes before we left and that was on the Blue Saphire Baby Bush Hog from Zoom. We only had a "throw away" cam with us or I would post the pic.
Best of luck to everyone next year.....Be Safe and we'll see you all next year. Bet |

Didnt know the fishing was any good there. Might have to make a trip up north to Huntsville this spring. Know of any hotspots there? The dock sure aint any good. I love going to that SP to camp/party. "Beware of the hydrilla"

Fishing from the shore or the two or three piers they have is probably a bit slow, I haven't done that, but since they put in a new boat ramp in early 06, we've had some good days out there including this one caught back in April I think it was.

By far the nicest bass Ive ever seen from Raven. Nice fish. Hey if you run into 2 rednecks from down south in a Jon-boat the Shiners are on me.
