Default Google Earth, just found something cool....

You gotta try this on your lake. Google earth litterally shows the entire bottom structure of the lake I fish.

The reason I know this is the bottom is because me and my fishing buddy has mapped this lake thoroughly. I know all the depths with or with out the fish finders help.

Plus its a electric motor only lake so the water is very clear.

Heres a small section of the lake, but, I found a few new bumps to fish.

I don't know. I have never tried it. I would right click, save as, load it to photobucket or whatever, and post it up if that is hat you are trying to do. If you just want to print it, right click, save as, and print. Tell me if it works.

Here is a way to beat around the bush.

I use Windows and Mac, but I assume you use Windows. Just open google earth and while you're viewing what you want to take a screenshot of, press ALT+Prt Scr button. It should be next to f12.

Then click Start - run - and type mspaint.
Then while paint is opened click CTRL+V.
Save the image and upload it to an image host.

Thought Id show off the old hole too. Notice the tree islands, submerged woods and the difference in depths. All of these lakes are interlaced where the fish can go anywhere. The East Lake is close to 25' in some places and the West Lake is somewhere around 15', The Spawn Lake to the South is 8' on each end and goes to 20' in the middle. These were constructed or dug to make fill dirt for roads in the early 40's and were stocked in the 50's and have never been re-stocked thanks to lots of catch and release anglers and a membership fee. When your viewing google earth hit the "print screen" button. On my lap top it says "prt sc".

Once you do that go into your photo editing program. Like ms paint. I use photoshop 7. Once in the program open a new blank file (file>new).

Once there use the "edit" tab and hit "paste". The image should appear after that. I use the crop tool to edit out all the rest of the image I dont need.

Once Im happy with the image I use the "save for the web" feature in photoshop. It allows me to upload larger images with smaller file sizes (that way you guys can view them faster).

After that I upload all my files to www.photohost.org They give you 10 megs for free. And signing up is free.

The time of day and weather during the photo effects the clarity big time.

The entire east end of the lake I fish is wind blown and has sun glare in the photo. So I cant see any structure on that end.

EDIT: Fished the little bump last night and pulled 3 fish off of it. All small. We did manage to catch a 1.4lbs female blue gil on a tube jig. The fish were in the canals last night.

You can also try Terraserver Images. No topo lines, just the lake.
