Ya looking for a flyrod? The action of a fishing-rod is directly affected by the rod material. This affects the action of the rod and this is also dependent on the type of fishing you plan. Fiberglass and graphite dominate rod construction and the more exotic composite rods have boron added to improve the stiffness qualities. Novices generally choose the more economical fiberglass rods. The composite graphite rods are much lighter and offer better casting ability and are more expensive

Your looking for a progressive powered rod blank.I have a Lamiglas that is that way, I don't like it.The rod loads up and then sort of catapaults the fish from the power generated on my hookset.I think its because the way the whole rod bends, I think I have to apply more pressure and then it will send the smaller bass airborne to the boat. Tactical Assault rods are supposed to be built the same way. P N J

gee such a big word for a bass angler-who'd a thunk it??-but that is basicly a wiffle stick that bends the entire rod. american rodsmith are these frustrating type of rods. they just don't fire a lure on the cast they lob it.. they have there uses but i don't like that kind of rod...

BPACA, I checked out the Quantum site. I like those Tour Edition Pro rods. The price is good. I think I will lean to the Gary Klien model. Maybe the Biffle. Also I see they have a swim bait rod-PTC797XF. I have been looking for one of those also and it might fit the bill. Do you use these rods. Are they light?
