Caddie Jim "Bones" McKay reacts as Phil Mickelson is hit by a screaming line drive that seemed to come out of nowhere during today's first round of the Masters. Mickelson, at the time of his injury, held a 3 shot lead over favored Tiger Woods. This stray shot came out of the gallery during Mickelson's third shot on the fourth hole at Augusta. Mickelson was immediately rushed to University Hospital where he was examined by urologist Dr. Richard Hertz and was later released. Mickelson, in a statement read by his manager, states that he will be returning to the PGA tour as soon as possible. It seems that Mickelson was suffering from a slight case of laryngitis.
In other news, Tiger Woods, who was paired in front of Mickelson, was seen chuckling and laughing throughout the afternoon for no apparent reason.
