Default FLW Casting Rods

I bought a baitcasting rod at WalMart years ago and still have the thing. It has been by far the best rod I have used. I have bought rods over the 100 dollar mark and this $39.99 rod kicks their butt. I assume they stopped making them as they started disappearing a few years ago around here. Does anyone know who made the rod? Does anyone have one or know where to get one? It is an FLW Titan Plus 7ft IM8 (believe its med action). I have been looking in WalMarts all over the place to see if I can find a spare one show up but only have seen the spinning rods.

Any info would be a big help. Thanks!

I wish I knew, Spego. I had a FLW MH spinning rod I loved until it met the lid to the rod locker .

You might try Ebay or contact FLW and see if they could help.

Yeah I have been watch Ebay forever and have seen the spinning rods come up but no casting rods. I should contact FLW and see if anyone can point me in the right direction. Sure does suck.

Unfortunatly writing to FLW did not get me much info.

Subject:FLW casting rods sold at WalMart
Message:
I have no idea who to contact about this but I figure I would try here.
Walmart used to carry baitcasting rods called FLW Titan Plus rods. They
have stopped carrying them in my area and I own 1......I love the thing!
I want another (at least 1) but I cannot find them anywhere including
Ebay. Can someone please point me in the right direction as this was a
FLW product. Thanks!

Thank you for your inquiry. I'm sorry but we do not sale or make
rods,we only allow certain companies to use our logo. If you have the
brand name you may be able to find the company online.

Default re: Walmart FLW Tour fishing rod

I recently came across a FLW Titan Plus WHTC-601M, 6-0" at a Pawn shop in Weatherford, Tx that was in excellent shape. It had almost new Zebco Micro 11 attached. Sticker said $15 but I got both the rod and reel for only $10!

I knew it must have been an older rod as it was made in Korea.

As far as who made the rods for Walmart, I do know both Shakespeare and Abu-Garcia use the "601M" type designations, in this case the 60 = 6'-0" length, the 1 = 1 piece and the M = Medium action.

A few years ago when walmart cut back and then stopped sponsoring flw, all the "flw" label prodcuts went away. Maybe now since walmart is back sponsoring flw, we might see a few of those products back but there is no promise that they will be made by the same companies they were in the past.

If you contact flw, ask them if they can provide you with a list of companies that had permission to use the "flw" label. Thay may help you narrow down who made the rod. Good luck!!
