Mattern Guide Service on Lake Palestine

Hello Everybody,

Well I hope everybody made it through those tough storms last nite. Lake Palestine is catching the run off today from it and the creeks are stained but Bass fishing was great today with about 30 Bass comming to the boat with 18 Keepers up to 5 lbs.

Mr. Nichols Spinnerbaits was the ticket today with buzzbaits beginning to catch. Good colors for spinnerbaits are white and white/chartruse combo.s same with Buzzbaits. Bass were feeding on shad and minnows near creek channels on flats early then holding nearer to the channels in about 2-6 feet.

Saw a bald eagle today and just had a great bite going today spent the day with Fritz Hager and Mr. Anderson and 2 of Fritz's boys. (Jack and Fritz the 3rd).

Water temps were 69.6 -72-9 from early to late. Good water can be found from mid-lake to Dam and the mouths of the creeks to part of the way back into the creeks.
