Caught this yesterday while speck fishing. Caught it on a 3" Calcutta swim bait. Saw it hit some shad and took a cast at it. Reeled in 3ft and it hit.
Wasnt planning on bass fishing so I didnt have a name card made up. So if it doesnt count, then no big deal. It weighed 5lbs 7oz on my digital. ![]() ![]()

Today I went fishing up by the Marina in East Alton on the Mississippi River....I was fishing the rip rap around the docks when this lil guy hit a blk blue senko....He put up a hell of a fight for only being 13 inches long and 8 inches around....first smallmouth I've ever caught out of the Mississippi river....usually they don't come this far down cause the water is really muddy and high I imagine...I've heard stories about people catching them but first for me.....these pictures I do admit suck...I had to use a cheap walgreens camera cause its the only one I'm allowed to use anymore....the throw away kind....I swear that this fish is mine! If it isn't then have the fishin gods doom me for ever...lol. I had the card drawn up but can you believe it only had 3 pictures left and forgot to make sure it was in the pic...dough! Hope it counts!...did a one hour photo and get these bad pictures back....

i am not trying to be a prick or anything, but in the rules and regs. it states that the measurements should be clearly visible, and that the i.d. has to be in the pic... but we will let Kevin decide on that one...

I'm finally posting pictures of why I call myself Creekgeek...I can't stay away from the local waterway Sugar Creek. This thing is abundant with smallies. Went out last night and caught another 25-30 in a 2 hour period. This was the first of the night and the biggest, caught on a Riverside Crawdad, floated down the current with a split shot. Measured 16" long and 9.25" girth. Not huge but nice sized for this waterway.
If the 3rd quarter contest is being run, this is my entry!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
