Gulp Fans
Well as most of you know I recently went through all of my fishing stuff, and sent a lot of stuff out to some younger folks. Well I had the intention of sending whatever Gulp stuff I had since I really do not care for it. Well low and behold, when I came across 2 bags of them, which had been opened and used, they were drier than cow pies on a sunny 90 degree day. I also had some in a plano box, with tons of other plastics(senko's, tiki sticks, pulse worms, ribbontail worms), and they were like rocks. But all of the other plastics were perfect. Now it's been at least 1 year, probably closer to 2 years, since I had used this stuff. But if all the other stuff was still perfect, and usable, it just reinforces my opinion about Gulp. It's a waste of YOUR money, because I've already spent all I will on this @$&^$^@.

Lizard,
I agree w/ you. Gulp is worthless. I had one still tied on my line when I put my pole away. Dug it out three days later and that thing was stiffer than a Viagra addict. I had to cut my hook off just to get rid of that dang thing. Not to mention, I didn't catch a single thing with it. |

don't know anything about gulps but i did read somewhere that there is a way to revive them..
it was something simple like soaking them in water for a while & they rehydrate. don't hold me to this . still worth a try. just found this on the berkley site, so maybe water is the go... "Since Gulp! is water soluble, these scents and flavors are released into the water 412 times faster than oil based plastic baits. This generates a much broader zone of influence for the bait and we've proven that more fish are caught using Gulp! than the other plastic baits on the market." And because Gulp! is made from all natural ingredients the bait is 100 percent biodegradable. Anglers get the shape, action and color advantages of plastic baits with the super intense scent of the chemicals fish desire in a bait that totally dissolves in just 9 months or less if left in the water. |

[/quote] I read it all long ago Felix. They however don't give any % of scent comparisons when you add scent to the plastics as I do. And for all that trouble and money, forget it. There are too many other great baits that catch fish to even want to deal with that crapola. And what happens when you throw it down on your carpet after it's torn, and go to clean up your boat after a day of fishing > You won't be happy I promise you Lizards |

Re: Gulp Fans
The moral of this story is not to throw it on the boat carpet, put it in a trash bag! ;D |

They won't dry out if you [glow=red,2,300]LEAVE THEM IN THE BAG![/glow]
With that said I agree with the rest of you. Spend your money on two bags of Zooms or Culprits. |

Re: Gulp Fans
My buddy I was out with Sunday pulled out a jig that he had put a Gulp curly tail on. It had sit in his tackle box for about a month and was hard as a rock. A knife wouldn't even cut through it. I was laughing my a$$ off at it because he worked on it for 30 minutes before he finally gave up and threw it back in the tackle box. He told me when he got home he ended up using a pair of diag wire cutters to get it off.

Re: Gulp Fans
I tried this cra* about 2 years ago before I started pouring my own baits. Not only did it not catch any fish ( I fished it next to a buddy that was fishing senkos and knocken em dead) It smells like my ex-girl friend and it dryied up on the hook so fast I had to throw hook and all away. I took that cra* back to the store and complained, got my money back.

Re: Gulp Fans
I agree 100% on the Gulp baits, i did leave them sealed in the bag and after one time use, the very next trip out they were also hard as a rock. If you are going to use them, u better use the whole lot of them @ 1 x.
