				 | Barn discovery

A couple came across a farm in Portugal for sale and bought it without looking what the barn contained. As the property was "sold as seen" they became the owners of everything within the barn .... See what you think ..... The barn doors were welded together, but look what they found when they gained access..... No one has been able to put a value on it yet. http://www.intuh.net/barnfinds/afa70.htm |

Man, if that's a true story, those have GOT to be the happiest people EVER. There's what, 50 or 60 or them?

I can say two things, they just stumbled onto A LOT of money, and the original owner should be shot for keeping them in such terrible condition. MB, I think there are more than 50 or 60...

i tend to think the owner has died. perhaps jay leno can scarf up on em. he has quite a collection himself. those cars are proof that in the end, everything goes to the highest bidder. |

I thought maybe some rich gangster stashed them and was later killed and no one ever knew he had them. What was odd to me is I used to have a 71 skylark and I am pretty sure I saw one in there. |

Well, in any case, the now owner needs to start cleaning, because washing all of them will take him a good minute. I wonder how many of them still run? Or have the ability to start up with just a few minor adjustments [since its very unlikely they will just start rigth up after sitting that long]. I saw a picture or two where the whole engine black appeared to be missing. I cant believe whoever was selling it ddint know/nor bother to find out what was inside the weilded-shut barn, that just spells out mystery to me.

Might have been an estate sell that the government forced due to delinquent property taxes, in any case the value is in the millions

They better make sure they weren't property of thieves. That would really suck to find out they were all stolen.

JB there was a similiar thing that happened here in PA. Some old guy had a dealership that was out of business and just sold used stuff. He also had a farm with a barn and steel building. There were tons of old junk cars on the property. His son was willed everything. Most of the cars outside were everyday normal cars. Inside the buildings were Camaros, Cudas, Chargers and other muscle cars along with some other valuable autos. I almost bought a 70 Chevelle SS from the old man at his dealership store. When I went back to see if he still wanted to sell it I found out he passed away. The son sold them all. Bob

i just showed all the car pictures to my buddy and he knew every single type and manufacture of each car pictured. That skylark turned out to be a 1970 4 door cutlass btw. there were a couple of VW beetles in the barn too. |
