Default The pond again...biggest bass...

Well. I said I guarantee that my biggest bass will come out of that pond, and it sure did. It was only a half on inch longer than my last one with the same girth. Using the weight calculator, it turns out to be 4 pounds 9 ounces. At this stage in my fishing "career", it's a hog by my standards.
I WILL catch a bigger one in this same pond.
Here is the story...

Everything was going well from the start of the day. I got the correct parts for my Quantum reel, along with a free "ProTeam" Quantum hat. My dad caught his first jig bass and his first superfluke bass. I hadn't caught a bass for like three hours. All I was throwing was a jig. I went by my dad and picked up my other rod and threw a superfluke. I don't know what told me to, but I picked up my jig rod and flipped my jig right into a tree. I was just yapping from boredom, and BAM! I horsed the bass out of the tree within seconds. Thank you Zooker for telling me to lock down my drag, because if it hadn't been, I wouldn't have landed the bass. I caught it on a 5/16oz Booyah Bed Bug Jig in Brown&Orange with a Green Pumpkin Baby Brush Hog as a trailer. I was using 50lb test braid also. Then the next cast I caught a bullhead. And the next cast a big snapping turtle, and it bit my dad's thumb. The turtle jumped and did a 360 while extending its neck and biting my dad. It was pretty freaky. Luckily, he still has his thumb, and it's just cut on the top.

Here is the tree I flipped my jig into. Right in the center. I never thought I'd be able to horse him out, but if you look at cedar trees in Texas and Mexico, this is nothing.

Thanks.

Yeah, my signature is way outdated. I'll change it soon. I saw your post BrushHog. Nice bass there. It's great to see a youngster fishing.

Nice fish.

You always know somebody actually weighed a fish, or measured it, versus just guessing when they mention ounces.
