Default Looking for a new career.

Basically the poo has hit the fan in my dads body shop, dont ask, and I wanna try a different job that i can make a living off of. theres nothin i enjoy more than cars but man I`m sick of them right now. the only thing i like as much as cars is fish. What careers are out there related to bass and conservation? Dont care for hunting though. I am looking into the missouri conservation department to be a conservation agent but I really dont know what the heck it is they do all day and where to go to school for it. Cars are not a stable job with the economy in the shape it`s in right now. people want nice paint jobs but they dont wanna pay for quality work and we have been getting ripped off. I may stick with body as a side job in my garage and hey maybe I`ll build the hot rod i always wanted if i can make a descent steady paycheck.

Well, be sure to use your forum name on your job app and resume'. I'm certain it can only help.

Good luck, BTW.

I`m just looking for a new field that has to do with fish, not eating them lol. I`ll never flip a burger again in my life even if it`s the last job on earth! But seriously what fields are out there fish related? Or what site would tell me more?

Ever think of raising fish? Need pumps and motors to move the water. Start small, sell fish to local restaurants or land owners who want to stock their ponds, and go from there.

Irvin Aerospace, Inc. is now hiring new employees to test their new line of Parachutes that open on “impact”. They are having trouble keeping new employees. You oughta try it just "once".. I agree with FR, your forum name will surly get you the job. Good luck.

Have you ever considered boat body/motor repair? Other than that check local tackle and bait shops. Or I saw a thing on tv about fish cowboys, they dive and herd the tuna into nets. But cowboys had cougars, wolves, and Indians to combat. In this all you gotta deal with sharks and jellyfish, problem is six shooters and riffles corrode in salt water and don't shoot very good under water to begin with.

Nutso,

The opportunities you have will depend almost entirely on your level of education and past work record.
So far as being a "conservation agent" (See: Game Warden) you will, indeed, need to have an education in that field. This likely requires at least a Bachelor's Degree in Game Biology or similar major. As well, there may be criminology studies involved and probably law officer qualification.
GO FOR IT!

Good luck.

I've always thought a Game warden would be an awesome job! But thing is it depends on your region to as what you would be doing. For instance up here in the northern parts of Florida you will be out on the lakes and rivers and ocean checking people and what not [even some undercover work, which includes hunting and fishing all day, who can beat that!!], and down in south Florida you may be checking cargo for exotic animals and reptiles and what not. But you will need the right expertice and correct field of knowledge. I always thought that when I go to college maybe I'll minor in Game Bio and other fields which are needed to Game Warden, just so when I get older and decide to give up my main field [architecture] I can go into something thats both fun and rewarding. Federal Game Wardens make a lot of money, but thats a hard job to score. Anyways it just depends on what you want to do, dont limit yourself because 'you dont care for hunting,' hunting is just as important as fishing and deserves the same respect.

in missouri there are very few actual game wardens and it is required to have a bachelors degree in wildlife mangement or biology things along those lines. when they do have an opening there could be over 1000 applicants for one position. you might have better luck as a park ranger or water patrol on one of the larger lakes. good luck!

Why work for "the man" ?
Become your own entrepreneur and start a lucrative business like JB did,
and get rid of unwanted family members to boot

"Honey, my mother is coming for a visit."

"No problem babe, just tell her to bring her suit and don't worry about bringing a towel!"
