Thanks BL. Your right about that bassfisher. My last lab seemed repulsed by water, but this pup LOVES water. She stands at her water bowl, splashing her paws in her bowl untill all the water is on the floor.

Awesome Dog, our mutt is fifteen now. She is definitely a member of the family. I hope Zoey brings you all the pleasure our dog has brought us!!

Haha yup, they are great dogs. If you do any kind of waterfowl or any other game bird hunting, you should teach her to retrieve, they pick up the sport fast and can be a life saver. And, if you do waterfowl hunt, considering you live in Indiana and dont have to worry about gators, it would be killing two birds with one stone [no pun intended]. The dog will love getting the chance to jump in the water [I recommend you fit her with a dog PFD, especially when you take her out fishing with you] and you will love not having to either motor over to the bird, or wade out to it.

we've been raising them for years and you don't have to do much teaching for them to jump in the water and fetch. Heres Hudson when he was 10 weeks old...

thanks yes he's fine, when it first happened he didnt realize he was even hurt, but after getting stictched up a day later, he limped and it hurt him for about 3 days, the worst part was the halo he wore and tore up for a month...he's back to swimming 5 times a day in our pond and harassing the other 5 critters we have lol

I've got cats too. Would much rather have a dog, hands down. Used to have a cocker-spaniel, she was part of the family, 3 years before I was born, and another 10+ and she passed on. Great dog. ever since I've been wanting another, yet all I got was cats... bummer.
