I think this first year of fishing's fishing log was a good start. Now I need to improve it for next year. I was going to take screenshots of the spreadsheet, but it's too wide, and I wanted one complete picture. So if you don't have excel or something to view this spreadsheet on, sorry. Here is the link http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/78...ingLog2007.xls .
What do you guys see on here that you would change? A new system or way of organizing the data? We ARE fixing this boat this year and hopefully buying a depth-finder, so the readings will be more accurate. Also, I recently edited the log, deleting all data on fish under keeper size. It was getting to be a chore, and I didn't like it that way, so I only log keepers now. Thanks. |

looks really good joolz. one thing i might would try to add is front conditions. basically are you fishing under a cold front or warm front, low pressure or high pressure? this can help you look back and see what the fish tend to do on any body of whater with certain conditions.

Thanks C-Rig, that's a great idea. Barometric pressure.

Joolz, you did a good job on that. My only suggestion would be to guesstimate on the weight of the fish and enter that instead of N/A.

Hey Joolz, I noticed that you only have fish over 15" in there, Did you decide to do that or were you lucky and didn't catch any dinks?

I would add a place at the end for "total fish caught" for that day, dinks included, to give you an idea of how the bite in general was for that day. I only say this because you have all the weather conditions, temps, and moon phases listed. It might give you an idea of which place to fish over another if these factors are somewhat equal.
Otherwise it looks really good.

hm... adding a "total fish caught" column... That's a good idea. I'm gonna have to work that in to my log. Since we have decided on not logging any bass under 14", that will show even the smaller ones. And if I'm correct, there will be more small ones not logged than big ones for me.
