Talking One Sweet Deal

Somehow or another I managed to wrangle an observer position in a pro's boat for a tournament on Choke Canyon south of San Antonio for Friday and Saturday. It is one of the qualifiers for the one million dollar Toyota tournament on Lake Fork like they had last year (the one with the weird format, pros fishing in teams of four). I am somewhat afraid I may go crazy sitting in a boat watching somebody else fish while I don't have a rod. But it will be interesting to see what those guys do on that lake that I don't do. Or haven't even THOUGHT of doing.

The good news is that I am staying at a buddy's place just north of town. He lives on 400 acres and there is some good fishing there. Reb even hooked a gator! I will get to fish some after the meeting tomorrow and again on Friday evening.

I will let you guys know how it went. Here is the story.

That sounds like a great way to spend the day/weekend. Observing can be a great learning experience. I'm sure the action in the boat will be fast paced enough, you won't have much time to stop and think about not being able to fish.
