Hey, PF- If you hit the search section of the site you'll probably find some more good stuff about this rod. I've got two ugly stiks I've had for years and I like them a lot. I use them for flipping or any kind of heavy cover. IMO, they really don't compare to Croixs or Loomis rods, but for the money, they do great. There are a whole lot of folks that would say I'm insane, but that's what I got for ya...

I agree with pnj, they're good bang for the buck. If that's what fits your budget, I think they are as good as any in that price range. If you can afford more, they're are better rods out there..... Remember what the bait monkey says " the more expensive they are and the more you have of them, the more likely you are to catch fish!"

Their comercials claim they are "The strongest and most sensitive rods" or something like that. I'd have to agree with the strongest, but most sensitive: not even close.

For an ultralight, I think they'd be great.

I share bigbassin's sentiments. Among the strongest for sure but not the most sensitive. I can however, think of one company's rod (lowest end) that makes the sensitivity of an Ugly Stik that of a Loomis GLX in comparison.
