Default standing in the fire

let me state here and now for the inexperianced angler or the unknowing veteran. i have a LOT of experiance fishing in the tailrace area you are about to see. i DO NOT recomend anyone to try this it takes a certain amount of insanity.operational knowlage of the dam systems and a dead cool hand to fish the tail race under high rock dam..

i sneaked up lake a tad later than normal. but i wanted to to hit the tail race -been awhile since i have fished it-

i was having a good time fishing the tail race.-sorry no pictures-4 under sized striped bass caught on a red eye shad. and a nice large mouth caught on a jig.. water temps under the dam were 50-51 water was real muddy.i caught a good 2+pound crappie on the red eye shad as i was releasing him..

i heard the unmistakable sound of the turbines start to spin -DAMMIT!!!-two hours early..so i floored the troller and headed out of the hole.i got almost to the bridge when the currants caught my boat. this was not a fun event tring to get my boat to run the boulder filled area. the chute you are forced to come down from the bridge to indian dam is less than 6 feet wide in the wide spots..when i got clear at the indian dam i cut back into the middle of the flow. and took this picture..

the chute you see held 3 striped bass 2 made the trip to the live well-one was 5 pounds- i looked in this area for a bedding area and found several likely spots but no bites at this time i was using a 1.5 oz jig.. currant is swift here troller on 4 to hold 5 to move any where..

seeing my troller batterys were about dead at this point i headed back to the ramp..
