Default South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing Report 4-29-08

It's been great fishing for peacock bass in South Florida. We fished Miami today in the C-100 canal and boated 38 fish to 4 lbs. A 4 lb. peacock fights like 6 lb. smallmouth or bigger. They love hot weather and the more sun the shallower they come, quite a difference from the other bass species.

hmmm...let's see, take the bike, 2 days of riding the keys followed by 3 days of peacock fishing. yep, i think that could work.

Miami is the place for peacock bass, but so is Brazil. FT. Lauderdale is red hot for largemouth bass right now also. Check out the fishing report for the South Florida Everglades.

Miami's a nice place. Its just not for me. Did some disaster relief work down there. Wasnt such a positive experience.

A for example: Like being cussed at in spanish while trying to restore power to a cell tower a day or two after the hurricane. They cussed at me because the power was for the cell tower and not their house. I translated it as "Oh, you guys dont want your cell phones to work?" So I left the generator un-hooked and drove back to West Palm.

Yeah I know what your saying. It's a great city and area but the language barrier needs to be addressed but it never will be! But it's the sportmans capital of the world so some things have to be tolerated, it's hard though.

Your absolutely right. You guys have a lot of great fishing down there.

You ever fish the upper portion of the glades? Like the "big bend" area near I80 (Southern BLVD)?
