Default Arghhh Not Good!!!

as i have a long history of knee problems. the pain in my right knee-the "good" one- was more than just passing amount.. after some arm bending by my girlfriend i finally went to see my ortho surgon.. first thing done was an mri.. then he told me the two words i did not want to hear.. a "torn acl".. add a string of cuss words that would make a sailer proud. and punching out the docs wall..hell at $750 a pop he can afford to fix it..

to say i am NOT HAPPY at this point and will be cancelin the fishing trip.would be an understatement.. my doc is one of the best an knows his crap he put me on a week long rest only outage-absolutly NO FISHIN -dammit-..if your disapointed imagine mine.. as the true reason for going to the dc area in the first place was private in nature..a few of you know the reason..i never stated why here, and refuse to in the open forum..

i called the private party first.. we agreed to meet up at a later time..
i am tring to call the others kevin, smitty, the drops, the offshore guys-at least captain mike answers his phone- but i figure the rest are at work. if you can call what jesse does work..

That does bite the big one, zooker. Follow dr's orders, though, he knows what he's doing.

I reckon surgery is the next step, right? What's the expected recovery time?

Good luck to ya, and here's hoping it heals quickly with no difficulties.

Zooker - try calling me again. I had a friend over visiting and was outside shootin' the *&%$. Got a little experience in the field, 15+ yrs as an athletic trainer, and can give you some tips on dealing with the injury.

Sorry to hear that. Hope meds do the job for you. Is this a work related injury, or something that's been on going? Hope for a speedy recovery, sorry about missing the DC trip.

I feel your pain there zooker. Thats a "pain" literally". I had surgery on my right knee 20 years ago for a torn knee cartiledge. It was torn in half in two places playing football in high school. Now 20 years later, it's comming back to haunt me. I wear a knee brace all day every day and fear I too will be facing surgery in the not too distant future. If I do I hope I have it in November so it can heal by spring. My problem right now is with my left hand. The thumb seems to be getting hard to move back and forth. Instead of moving smoothly and quietly, it kinda snaps back and forth like a light switch. I have no idea what is causing it. Thought it would go away, but I'm thinkin I should get to the doc soon. Durring the day it gets better but it hurts like hell when I first get up and start moving it. Not good when I'm trying to hold a fishing rod. Keep us informed on how things progress for ya. Stock up on Bill Dance videos and beer.
