WOW zooker, you must be the only one other than me that does not like the Revos. I bought a couple Okuma spinning reels to give away and kept one of them. I don't mind it at all. I have never seen the baitcasters anywhere.

i have owned the revo stx since they first come out. i have MAYBE 4 days of fishing with it since.. first thing went was the level wind. the next time i used it,it lost all tension ajustment. after fishing it all one day the drag started to slip the second day about an hour later i lost all drag.and now the spool refuse to engage the spool..
i think the reel cost like $200 but i bet i have twice that amount wrapped up in parts, laybor, and shipping..this last time when i yanked the reel off the rod i dam near threw in the lake..it is currantly at the abu repair center AGAIN...one more time and it's goin for distance.. zooker

My fault Zook... that's the one I have... with the LSD paint job!!! It was regular $190. Got a deal on one and really like how smooth it is. I also have the plain (chrome) Energy PT. It's a decent reel too but a big deference in the two.

I Know this is apples & oranges. But last year i won a med. action Okuma spining reel & Rod & Okuma tackle bag. I won it threw longhorns sweepstakes. WWW.Longhornsweepstakes.com Well there having this contest again. You can also sign up at many smoke shops. Sorry BUZZ you gotta be 21. Let me tell you. I think Okuma makes some dam good stuff. This spining reel is the best i've ever owned. Why i have'nt tried the baitcaster. The 1 & only spinning reel that i have is the best i've ever used. I say give it a try zook. I don't think you'll regret it.

Interesting topic. I myself have been converted over to Revos. They are a great feeling reel. Super smooth and a great drag system. I do have a drawback and that is its not made for guys with big hands. My curados fit perfect in my hand so I am still getting used to palming the revo. As far as customer service my buddy had one go bad in the bearing in the handle I think. Anyways he sent it in and within 72 hours he got a NEW one back not his old one fixed or a refurbished....That is great customer service! I dunno I love my curados but I think the revo is my new reel of choice!

I know the people over on riversmallies were big okuma spinning reel fans. I myself normally go very cheap on spinning tackle so I havent bought one myself, but from trying the Okuma display models at Dick's sporting goods I can see what they are talking about.
I will probably never turn my back on Abu Garcia baitcasters. Want to get a REVO at some point, but I wish they would produce a larger model for flipping. I'm getting to where I have enough rods and reels to feel comfortable again, my flipping reel will probably be the next to be replaced - but its not urgent.

I really don't like spinning reels at all. But i did need somthing for finese fishing. So when it's given to you for free. And it cost you no money you shut up & take it. I have not regretted it one bit as a rod & reel.
