				 | Meet & Greet I've been thinking about this for a while. Let me know if you like/dislike/absolutely hate the idea. I know a lot of the members here travel a good bit with their jobs, visiting family, whatever. With the number of members we have on here, and as widely scattered as we are, those who travel are bound to pass by other members at some point. So I thought that it might be a good idea to give each other a head's up when traveling, so members could meet up just for lunch or somethng, or take a weekend and head out to a local lake. I think this idea started in my head at the Guntersville thing, and I've been debating whether it's a good idea or not. So, whaddya think? |

Its a fine idea, we didnt get to go fishing last time. Its just a matter of how you want to facilitate this.

I am for a meeting in Alabama near a lake. Depends on the date and if the wife will let me go.

I don't mind driving a few hours to a lake in Tuscaloosa or even up near Cullman, but since I mostly bank fish I would not know my way around any lakes. Whichever you choose would be fine with me (preferably one that you are familiar with so we can make the most out of the trip). I have never fished from a bass boat so I would have to follow your lead. The only real issue would be running it by my wife. I have been fishing a whole bunch during my free time the past 2 to 3 months. The wife has not been to happy about that. It would have to be planned several weeks ahead and right now the answer I would get from her would be "We'll see" with no promises. I will have to lay low on fishing the next several weeks to try and pull the "I haven't gone fishing in 3 weeks" card.

Quite some time ago there was a frapper (I think) map with everybody's location. That made it easy if you were traveling to try to meet up with somebody. I met up with Rodman Rob that way.

Sounds like a good idea guys. The only place we ever go is to Alabama to visit relatives and NY to visit relatives. I may be going to San Antonio for my cousin's wedding though. Anybody wanna take me fishing? I know that the Member Event is going to be held by different members around the country as well. BB

Something like that was the original idea. But however people want to use this is fine with me. It's all good. I figured we could use a centralized location to post on to make it easier for people to hook up. | |

I like this. I travel for business all the time. I am the eastern regional sales manager for a hydraulics company. Which means I travel all over mostly east of the Mississippi. I usually take a collasible rod since I fly, and fish motel/hotel ponds as I usually do not need a license at them. I usually have all evenings free and am bored where I am at. I used to be a territory sales manager and drove all over Missouri and Kansas and always took my gear. That was a blast. |

If you all ever make it to the land of earthquakes and big bass. (Southern California) Drop me a line. Most of the lakes out here won't let you put a personal boat in, but rent 12 footers for around $25 a day.

If the admins see enough traffic on this, I would suggest that we put the same map up that is used for the braggin rights. You could set it up to show who is interested in playing tour guide in each region. Just my idea, and since I appear to be one of the lone guys on this side of the country, I will defer to what the eastern guys have to say.
