Looks bad....looks like we will get a direct hit with the eye passing over our home. New Orleans is on Lake Pontchartrain and a smaller lake to the side is Lake Maurepas. I live on Lake Maurepas. They are predicting a 10' to 12' storm surge in Lake Maurepas and all the way to Port Vincent (about 10 miles past my home). We are under a mandatory evacuation and we will leave, but I have neighbors that are not leaving. Please pray for them. Heck, please pray for all of us.

Thanks, Buddy

My Bro is on call (the Dr. Love to yall) down in lafayette LA right now.

I was just out on the pier in mobile bay (fairhope) and its calm enough to take the spook out. The water is up about 5 feet it seems. One guy was fishing with cut bait, said hes caught a few. Looks like we dodged a bullet but lets wait and see.

Thanks for your prayers. We got through everything with minor damage and very little flooding. The river is out of it's banks, but no threat to our homes.

Sorry for many that did not fair as well. Have seen many homes with a tree on top and some were cut completely in half!

Our power was restored yesterday and they had just told us it would be 14 to 21 days!

Thanks again, Buddy

Move back man...

You got the beach and saltwater fishing. So what If you have to ride out a few little rain clouds every year?

I have spent the last two days cleaning mud and dead fish out of/and on my yard, pier, and dock. A real mess, mud was 4" to 6" in places! Water fell about 18" and now with the approach of Ike...it is rising fast. Sure glad we are not in his path.

My prayers go out to everyone in the effected areas of Ike.

Port Aransas already has water to the dunes, with the storm about 400 miles away.
