Default Nikon D90 camera (HELP!)

My mom recently purchased a nikon d60 and wanted live view so she exchanged it for the d90. I need some help because the picture quality is not what it should be considering it is a $1300 camera.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to correct the picture quality problem please let me know.

i never did like a nikon camera.. how is the picture quality? not seen on the screen but after you upload them?? very rarely do you get good quality looking pictures thru the viewing lcd screen..

in my cannon the shot you see is much sharper when it gets uploaded to the computer..

try calling their customer service and try to get hold of a human..they got all day to tell ya how to fine tune that camera..I've called before on weekends and it almost sounds like the guys at home taking calls, but they do help.
Its free and just takes a phone call.

My sister has had a couple Nikons and a Canon. We've had tow canonc (none of them were more than $300 cameras, but I've shot with all of them, and really prefer the Canons over the nikon. Maybe It's cause I know how to use them better from Digital Photography class, but maybe not. I do think they shoot better pics.

I picked up a Kodak C713 which is a vast improvement over my old Fuji in every respect. Uploaded picture quality is outstanding. The only thing I opted not to use was the Kodak packaged software. I much prefer the programs I already use including Picaso 3 from Google.

hmmm, I like my Nikon but can't think of what else. Either call them or let me take a look at mine and see what else it might be.

I hear ya there Joel about the kodak software, I installed it on a laptop lastnight and it really bogged down how fast the pc will run.
We picked up a Kodak Z712 last year, they only made them for a couple of years, we really love it, but the software is slowin me down LOL

Now that's a great camera for sure.

My main focus for a digital camera is to take pictures of our catches on the rowboat, as well as using a tripod for when I'm out solo. Now I fish from any one of a number of rowboats, so the camera will take a beating as the previous ones have. I try to keep it to $100 or less. I do have a interest in photography, and the C713 with it's macro to 5 inches and a zoom lens will fill the bill this year.
