Felt the need to rant a little so bare with me.
So the weather wnt to crap yesterday after we were all told that by the time the rain moved in it would be warm enough s that it would not freeze. 2 hours after the freezing rain started to fall they (weather idiots) decided that it was probably going to be slic out. Oh really? So the great states of Ohio and Indiana sent out there salt trucks faster then my wife spends my paychecks. There roads while still slightly slick were still manageable. Now the great Blue Grass state decided that since we are by geographical terms further south we should be fine. Well you know where this is going. While the other two states stillcould get traffic to their designated areas with a slight delay, Ketucky had to fully shut down 3 highways. My 25-30 min trip to work turne into a 2 hour slip and slide. To make matters even worse. My wife works roughly 30 mins from the house. She gets off work at 4:30pm, a I was leaving for work t 8:45pm I had still yet to hear from the person that means the world to me. Now it was my idea to move to the country where we could have a nice small house and better yet I get not one but two seperate ponds to fish from. One for bass and crappie, the other for monster catfish (up to and including a nice 76 pounder, pics comming soon). Well down here we dont only not get any bars on our cell phones the damn things actually laugh in your ear when you tr to make a call. So we got rid of them. So on my way to work there was one way in and one way out thanks to great pretreatment. I was watching on comming traffic as much if not more then my side of the road for the hope that I could see just a glimpse of the love of my life as she passed on her way saftly home. Needless to say it nevr happened. So as I get to work around 11pm I hadnt heard from her now for over 5 and a half hours. I called every 10 mins to my house in hopes of hearing her voice but it did not happen. Finally at 11:30pm after I broke down at work (I consider myself to be a "manly man" no crying here, atleast not infront of anyone) from the constant pressure of the guys I work with asking what is wrong with me and why I'm not cracking jokes or talking I call again begging the lord to let my wife answer the phone and she does. Her 30 min ride home from work had turned into 7 full hours. Including sitting in one single spot for over 5 hours as zero salt trucks went by, and while the state police block the high way with no way to turn around and no where to go. My tiny little wife who is barely 5 ft tall and who gave birth less then 5 months ago was finally home where if the state had done their damn jobs she would have been hours upon hours before. So in short Merry Christmas, have a very happy and safe New Year. Let all your family know you love them, and if your going to go threw the great state of Kentucky during the months of Nov-March you may want to drive a camper cause only god knows when your going to need a place to laydown for a while, while your stuck on a higwa some where. Rant over!!

Man. I've lived all over the US, North, South, East and West. It seems that if so much as a flake hits the ground south of the Mason Dixon line, everyone loses their damn minds and mass chaos ensues...Sorry to hear about your wife's predicament.

glad to hear she is ok. we have the same crap here. this last ice storm we had kept my wife from going to work because her trans am will not go anywhere on the ice. i don't care how much weight you add to the back or how easy you are on the gas it will not move. we live in the city limits and all the other roads were clear so the only thing that kept her from getting to work was the 1/8th of a mile from our driveway to the cleared roads. we pay taxes like everyone else so why can't they get our road cleared off? they said "we don't have time to get to all of the roads right away so some roads have to come first". makes sense to me, i have no problem with them starting on the more busy roads and working there way down but in the 3 years we have lived here they have never salted or ran a blade down our street, and we have had snow and ice last for weeks. so it isn't a case of them not being able to get to our road because after a day or two they have cleared the major roads, they are just too damn lazy to do it. i told my wife that we should just send the city a bill for the money we lose when she can't make it to work on the slick roads, and also stop paying city taxes.......i know how well that would work out but it makes me feel better threatening it. also while we are talking about taxes, it pisses me off to have to pay out the nose for school taxes when first off i don't have a kid in school and second off by march or april the school will have blown all it's money and i will have kids banging on my door wanting me to buy from their fundraisers. ok my rant is over too.

Damn man , sell more jigs ! haha , joke. Apparently no one with political power lives on your road my friend... I once had a trans am as well. I did much work to that car , it was very very fast , but not worth a crap in snow. I called it the Red Bobsled.

this trans am will FLY!!! but like you said it is helpless on snow and ice. we are gonna be getting her a new vehicle pretty soon and depending on what they offer for trade in we may keep it and just store it for later.

C Rig , I would keep it , I am in the process now of trying to find another one , with either 1. a blown motor ( preferred ) or 2. way high miles. I want to do a 396 Big Block Swap , I seen on the net where a company makes a 396 for that application. Maybe add a turbo charger as well , shoot for the 600Hp range. We dont have the strict emmissions laws here in indiana yet....

C-rig, we're starting to have the same problem here, except they say they can't afford to plow all the streets now. So they're just not gonna. The body shops will see a lot more business.
