Try using chunks of boneless chicken breast soaked overnight in Cherry Jello.

Use chicken liver. use about a 2" chunk, wrap the liver onto the hook (after hooking it 2-3 times) with some thread from the wife's sewing kit. Use about an 18" piece and just wrap a million times so the liver doesn't come off while you chuck the bait.

the doc, wanna know a great way to kkep the liver on the hook? take an old pair of your ladies nylons, cut into 2 inch squares, wrap live in and tie with sewing thread, hook to your hook, and there ya go. bait won't get nibbled off or slip off.

if these don't work, try some "shock" treatmen or dyomite. hahahahahaha.

I was gonna say the same thing.

Stanley, what species? This time of the year I'm guessing Channel or Blue cats?

If it blue, I like a cut baits like skipjack, herring, chub, etc...head or mid section, bloody ones.

For channel (dumb ones) they take what blue eat including what the guys have listed here.

Whenever I go catting I hunt Flatheads! They prefer a lively bait- bluegill, goldfish, baby carp, chub, etc...

Go at night with a spotlight, chum em up good and unload a few shotgun rounds in the water. Or trotlines. Or just use hot dog for bait.
