Default Back to work

I guess my fishing will have to take a back seat. Signed an offer letter today and back to work on 16 March. At least the wife is happy

Luckily for me the new job is a federal job. I would be afraid to go and work for the state of california since they are going through their layoffs.
My Marine Corps time will count towards the retirement so I walk in day one with 12 years towards retirement.
The pay is within 2% of my last job but I gain an extra week of vacation and a retirement plan that can't be beat.
I tired to convince my wife that I was a struggling professional fisherman but that didn't fly.

hahaha it didn't work huh? well look at it this way cass, ya only got 13 more years and you can retire with 25 yrs in. i still got 15 to go for that. be 62 and i ain't liking that one little bit. but if i can hold on... i'll have a decent retirement.

Thats some good news, and there is a lot more bad than good floating around right now. Everyone just has to survive, we gotta go back to working to make America what it was.

That's good news Cass, I may be going in the other direction in the next month or so. We already have 1000 on layoff and their going to get another 400 +/- in the next few weeks and that's getting close. But I'll find away to fight the BAIT MONKEY.

At least you are not this guy(sorry about the format):

John Smith started the day early having set his

alarm clock
(MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6am.
While his coffeepot
(MADE IN CHINA )
was perking, he shaved with his
electric razor
(MADE IN HONG KONG .)
He put on a
dress shirt
(MADE IN SRI LANKA ),
designer jeans
(MADE IN SINGAPORE )
and
tennis shoes
(MADE IN KOREA )
After cooking his breakfast in his new
electric skillet
(MADE IN INDIA )
he sat down with his
calculator
(MADE IN MEXICO )
to see how much he could spend today. After setting his
watch
(MADE IN TAIWAN )
to the radio
(MADE IN INDIA )
he got in his car
(MADE IN GERMANY )
filled it with GAS
(from Saudi Arabia )
and continued his search
for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.
At the end
of yet another discouraging
and fruitless day
checking his
Computer
(Made In Malaysia ),
John decided to relax for a while.
He put on his sandals
(MADE IN BRAZIL )
poured himself a glass of
wine
(MADE IN FRANCE )
and turned on his
TV
(MADE IN INDONESIA ),
and then wondered
why he can't find
a good paying job
in AMERICA
