Default April Bait Monkey Trip

Made it down to a couple of small tackle shops this morning with my daughter. Final damage was $123.

I picked up a BBZ-1 shad, a Matts Lure Blue gill, 2 16 inch worms, a pak of 7" super flukes, a pack of black fat IKA's, a Spro Popping Frog (hadn't tried one yet) some Gami Frog hooks, and the most important part, the Hannah Montana 5" closed face rod and reel combo.

I know BBZ and TT swim baits are the big thing, but I wanted to show one beside the Matt's Bluegill. While the action on the BBZ's I have owned is awesome, the Matt's has the bigger profile that I want from a blue gill bait.

Not bad for the first trip of the month.

My daughter and I are happy to report that her hannah montana combo is now proven able to land a bass. Nothing massive, but I am fine with that. Green spinner bait at the edge of some lilly pads

Is Hannah Montana 18 yet? I got my son a "cars" combo. He was only 9 months when I got it for him... a little preemptive, I think. He has a Bill Dance Quantum ultralight spinning combo waiting for him, too. He's 18 months now. Just a couple more months and I'll have him casting away!

We were thinking of getting my 2 year old a rocket fishing pole just for him to mess around with , my 7 & 5 year olds fished spinning gear all last summer and I am thinking of moving them up to baitcasting this year . It looks like you grabbed some good stuff cass , I have been looking at those mattslures online and am tempted to order them , just got to get the wife to ok it .
