Well, my dad and I spent Father's Day working outsite on the our Koi pond (we're a bit behind this year). Draining it, scraping muck off the bottom, cleaning the filter, getting putting more water in, repairing a hole in the linder, and filling it back up. So, afterwards, we decided ot head to the local reservoir and fish a bit.
We got out there about 4:45. I was armed with a my new Bluegill Bandit Footloose, Bluegill 4" TT swimbait, Bluegill KVD spinnerbait, and the Yum Dinger I used the other day. The water is a lot muddier than it was the other day because of all the rain, so I never threw the TT swimbait. I started with the bandit and my dad started with the rootbeer chartreuse bandit that we didn't catch anything on in KY. About 20 minutes into it, my dad hooks into a 12 incher on the crankbait. Meanwhile, I've got nothing on my crank. So, I switched to a YUM Dinger, but in 4" and junebug. I immediately got a 15"er followed not long after by a 14". Then my dad switched over to a 5" watermelon candy dinger and got one, about 14". I then set the hook on what felt like a nice one. When he got to the surface and gave a nice head shake, he came off! His mouth was at least two times bigger than any other we'd got so far.My dad went on to catch a total of 8, biggest was 16" I had 3, biggest was my first one, at 15", and it was a chunk. I don't know why, all mine kept comming unbottoned. And when I tried setting the hook harder, I broke my line... Anyways, still no pics cause we still can't find the camera. I'm going out there tomarrow morning to hopefully catch some more. BB
