There is a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that is H.R. 3501. It is titled “Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years Act.” Basically it would make pet care expenses tax deductible. The bill is in the Ways and Means Committee. This bill does need a little work, but it is a great start. It is being overshadowed by the healthcare bill that we have all been hearing about. I do not want to see this bill die in committee and it may do just that. The bill was introduced by a republican from Michigan. With the committee being controlled by democrats, I feel that we need to contact our congressman and especially if your Congressman is on the committee. I will list the members of the ways and means committee. You can reach them through www.house.gov website. Please pass this along to your email and facebook friends and hopefully they will let their pet loving friends know about it. A link to a copy of the bill is http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.3501.IH:
