Default Might be a good time to quit.

I just got an email from a guy that went to the rig I am going to in Singapore. Some of y'all know I am a dipper. He told me the Shell company man got caught with some snuff and they charged him import tax per gram. He said they charged him right at $220 dollars!
Whoa, might be a good time to give the ole lip a break and make the wife happy.

Can you buy any tobacco products there and not get taxed?

I think you can buy cigs over there and snuff imported from India for a hefty price. If I have to smoke though, I would rather quit all together. I put the cigs down in my mid-20s, I don't won't to pick it back up again.

I was only kidding about the cigs, I wouldn't wish smoking on anyone, it's a nasty, unhealthy habit. Look at it like a blessing in disguise, may push you to quit your nasty, unhealthy habit.

Me too! lol

My problem with quiting is I really don't want to. Add to that the fact that I'm stubborn and hate somebody trying to force me to do something. And what with the taxes, increasesed prices, all the anti-smoking propaganda, and now a state law of no smoking in buildings, I feel like I'm being forced to quit. It just makes me more reluctant to quit.

I got a call this morning and I have to leave a week early too. I am going to have to smuggle about 20-25 cans for 5 weeks worth. Plus I will be going solo. I think I am going to stuff it in my steel toe boots and start wearing a pair of socks now until I finish packing Tuesday and stick the crusty, smellies in my boots so they want bother them. They are plastic cans, so they shouldn't set off anything, but they will probably be noticeable on the new imagining in the airports. Don't put it past me, the brain will come up with desperate measures for nicotine.

Don't get caught Bubba. I dip too and it's harder to quit than smoking IMO.

Snus might be your answer, no spitting either. You can get it over the internet now but they are putting a stop to that soon with the no tobacco in the mail law. www.northerner.com
I flew this week and saw the new scanners but they weren't using them and they were only for your body, your carry on still goes in the X-Ray machine and my checked bag always gets hand searched. I would only worry about it in customs/immigration when you get there and wouldn't think it would be a big deal unless you got unlucky and got searched but I've never been to that country so I don't know for sure. Of course it would be best if you quit all together but if not the snus might at least help with that killer flight.

One of my friends just quit smoking and he said that gum really tastes good. I tried the CVS brand when I quit and it is nasty. It's expensive but worth it to get the Nicorette and this stuff does work, really takes the edge off.

Well I quit smoking cold turkey nearly 10 years ago. By then I had tapered down to "ultra lights", but was at about 2 packs a day. Boy that was hard - you gotta REALLY want to quit bad. Did it over a long labor day week-end. Drank lots of water and slept a lot!

Now I've prolly saved a small fortune between then and now, but I'll be derned if I know where the money went!!!

Anyway Bubba, with that dippin don't you gotta spit a lot? Not to mention that like the chew, you don't get the heart/lung risks like smokin, but there are lots of horror stories with that stuff too. So, just say NO, man up and QUIT.

Life is full of choices - here's hoping you make the best ones for you.
